SWONT JUNIOR GOLF
2010 JUNIOR GOLF HIGHLIGHTS
As a result of the Southwest Ontario Optimist District tournament at Blenheim on July 12, 2010, the following juniors have qualified to go to Florida in July 2011 to compete in the OIJGC (Optimist Internatioal Junior Golf Championship). This is played at the PGA National Course in Palm Beach Gardens ,Florida. About 800 juniors come from about 30 different countries for this tournament.
As the winners at Blenheim, Connor Denning and Laura DeMarco will each receive $1200.00 toward their expenses in 2011. The rest of the juniors can pay their own way if they choose to do so.I will submit these names to the Optimist International headquarters in St.Louis. Next April or May, you will each receive an application form in the mail and if you choose to participate, you will have until June 30, 2011 to submit the registration fee of about $600.00 directly to St Louis. Registration covers your accommodations and some of the meals.
Note that some of you will be playing in a higher age group next year. The boys age groups will be the same in Florida as they were in Blenheim. In Florida, The girls will have four age groups, the same as the boys
